Ohio offers electronic equipment, office furniture at auction of state's surplus property

Share/Save/Bookmark

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio officials say electronic equipment and other items are available for sale at a state surplus auction.

The Saturday auction was to be held at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services in Columbus. Auction items included computer and other electronic equipment, office furniture, exercise equipment, lawn mowers and army cots.

Surplus property auctions by the state offer the public an opportunity to purchase goods at reduced prices. They also allow the state to recover a portion of its initial investment.

The surplus property may include items damaged or at the end of government use. The property offered for sale also may include items seized by law enforcement officials.

State officials have said Ohio's surplus auctions generated more than $3.9 million during fiscal year 2013.
