DEER PARK, New York — Police say one person was killed and two others were critically injured in a single-car accident on Long Island.

Suffolk County police are still trying to determine what caused the crash at 4:30 a.m. Monday in Deer Park. However, they say weather was not a factor.

Police say the 2003 Infiniti was southbound on Straight Path when it veered off the road and struck a tree south of Sagamore Lane.

One of the three occupants was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified him as 28-year-old Hamzah Abdul-Hakim of Wyandanch.

The two other people were identified as Ismail Latif and Darnell Snell, both of Wyandanch.

Police have not yet determined who was behind the wheel.
