Man accused in shooting at Fayetteville pool party that killed 1 and wounded 4

ATLANTA — Authorities say an 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting at a pool party in Fayetteville.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Terrence Kyreef Montgomery Jr. in Atlanta Friday. Local media report Montgomery faces charges of felony murder and malice murder, four counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Montgomery is charged in the shooting June 13 that killed 19-year-old Wali Clanton Jr. of Stockbridge and wounded four others. The four others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Montgomery had a lawyer.

Police say the shooting followed an argument at the end of a graduation pool party that attracted several hundred people after it was advertised on social media.
