Police are trying to identify man shot by Fayetteville homeowner while breaking to house

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina — Police say a Fayetteville homeowner shot and wounded an intruder who broke into his home.

Authorities said in a news release that the homeowner heard the break-in around 5 p.m. Friday, got a gun and shot a man as he entered his house.

Police don't know the identity of the man shot, and his condition was not available.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances around the shooting.
