WARREN, Ohio — A northeast Ohio city and county have asked a judge to dismiss a wrongful-death lawsuit over a one-vehicle crash that killed six teenagers.

Relatives of three boys who died in the Warren crash sued the city and Trumbull County, alleging that officials didn't properly maintain County Road 69 before the March 2013 crash.

Investigators concluded a sport utility vehicle sped down the two-lane road at nearly twice the 35-mph speed limit, then flipped into a pond. The 19-year-old driver and five of the seven boys riding with her were killed.

In court filings, attorneys for the city and county deny allegations of negligence or improper maintenance and request that the case be dismissed. They also point to the driver's alleged recklessness and raise questions of legal standing and liability.
