ROCHESTER, New York — Police say a young woman has died and a man faces drunken driving and manslaughter charges after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 490 in Rochester.
Troopers say 19-year-old Khadijah McKenzie of Gates was heading west on the highway shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday when her SUV was struck by a pickup truck heading east in the westbound lanes without headlights on.
Police say 30-year-old Robert Rector of Fairport was treated for minor injuries and taken into custody. McKenzie was pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Rector is in the Monroe County Jail. It could not be determined if he has a lawyer.
