SPARTANBURG, South Carolina — A Spartanburg woman has been charged in an early morning hit-and-run crash that killed a 23-year-old woman.

Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says 25-year-old Colleen Adaire Casey was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger says 23-year-old Jacquelyn Cara White was pronounced dead at around 5:20 a.m. Monday. Clevenger says White had been struck by a car about an hour earlier and was found on the side of the road.

Authorities are still investigating the crash. It wasn't known if Casey had an attorney.
