SHERIDAN, Wyoming — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is banning open fires on all commission-owned and administered lands within the Sheridan Region.

The closure covers lands including the Kerns, Amsden, Bud Love and Ed O. Taylor Wildlife Habitat Management Areas as well as all commission-owned public access areas.

Habitat and Access Coordinator Seth Roseberry says the potential for catastrophic fires threatening commission-owned lands will remain high as long as dry conditions continue across Wyoming.
