Western NY man, 22, admits killing girlfriend, is sentenced to prison for manslaughter

TONAWANDA, New York — A 22-year-old western New York man has been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison after admitting he stabbed his girlfriend to death last year.

Local media outlets report Edmund Serwinowski of Tonawanda pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter and was sentenced as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors.

He'd originally been charged with second-degree murder for killing 34-year-old Jennifer Sacaridis during a fight at her home on Dec. 16.
