Colorado Springs woman convicted of killing man whose body was found in car in Iowa


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — A jury has convicted a Colorado Springs woman in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found in a car in Iowa.

The Gazette reports ( ) 22-year-old Bionca Rogers was found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and murder after deliberation in the death of 61-year-old Grant Frazier. She was immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Frazier was killed Feb. 16, 2014, in Colorado Springs, and his body was found nine days later in the trunk of his car in the parking lot of a Newton, Iowa, apartment complex.

Rogers testified Friday that she drove to her hometown to give her family custody of her 4-year-old daughter. She said she stabbed Frazier because he was trying to rape her.
