MOSCOW, Tennessee — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Moscow.

TBI officials say a Moscow Police Department officer stopped motorist Mark Lullen on Highway 57 after seeing him weaving and driving well below the speed limit early Monday. The officer then approached Lullen to arrest him on an active warrant.

The TBI says Lullen put his vehicle in reverse while the officer was in the open doorway, striking the officer. Officials say the 61-year-old Lullen backed up his vehicle and then proceeded to drive toward the officer.

Officials say the officer, who wasn't identified by the TBI in a news release, fired one shot through the front windshield, hitting Lullen.

Lullen, of Grand Junction, was taken to a Memphis hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
