Police search for suspect responsible for fatally shooting teenage girl, injuring teenage boy

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Authorities are searching for a suspect in a shooting that killed a teenage girl and injured a teenage male in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to WHAS-TV (http://bit.ly/1yxKUU6), the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say the female died at the scene. The other victim had non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Authorities have not released their names, or provided any other details about the shooting, which is still being investigated.

Louisville Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said officers were continuing to canvas the neighborhood for answers.

"Any shooting strikes a chord with me, but particularly when its young people who obviously haven't had much of a chance at life at that stage," he said.
