Sioux Falls man faces multiple charges after leading police on foot chase through neighborhood


SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Police say a man faces multiple charges after leading an officer on a foot chase through a central Sioux Falls neighborhood.

The Argus Leader reports ( ) that the pursuit began at 11:30 p.m. Thursday when a traffic officer tried to pull over a vehicle with expired dealer plates.

Police Capt. Greg VandeKamp says 32-year-old Samuel Harwood eventually stopped the vehicle at an apartment complex and struggled with an officer.

VandeKamp says he broke free and lead the officer on foot chase that ended back at the apartment complex.

VandeKamp says the officer found a syringe with methamphetamine residue on Harwood.
