Shreveport police officer arrested, accused of battery

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — A Shreveport police officer has been arrested after being accused of simple battery in February.

The Times reports (http://bit.ly/1OcvyOM ) Sgt. Wiley Lindsey, who was hired in September 1993, was placed on administrative leave following Monday's arrest.

According to a police report, Lindsey was involved in "a large fight that occurred at the (Krewe) of Centaur Parade" on Feb. 7.

Police spokesman Cpl. Marcus Hines says Lindsey was on-duty at the parade at the time of the alleged incident.

Bond information was not immediately available. It was unknown if Lindsey is represented by an attorney.
