Florida man dies after vehicle goes off road, strikes tree in south-central Montana

BILLINGS, Montana — A 26-year-old Florida man has died in a single vehicle crash in south-central Montana.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the man from Lehigh Acres, Florida, was driving on U.S. Highway 310 near Fromberg at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle went off the road. The center of his hood struck a tree that was 2 feet in diameter.

The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1CkKVzG ) the man was extricated from his vehicle and airlifted to a Billings hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His name hasn't been released.
