ABERDEEN, South Dakota — An Aberdeen man who admitted to possessing child pornography has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.
The Aberdeen American News (http://bit.ly/1LmUCLj ) reports that 29-year-old Charles Chambers pleaded guilty to four counts of possession, manufacturing or distribution of child pornography, and one count of solicitation of a minor. Six other counts of possession and another one of solicitation were dismissed.
Brown County chief deputy state's attorney Chris White says Chambers downloaded improper files to his cellphone from a file-sharing website earlier this year.
Chambers received eight years on each possession count to be served concurrently. The judge also imposed an eight-year sentence for the solicitation count, which Chambers will begin serving after completing the possession sentence.
Chambers was given credit for 118 days served.
