National Weather Service issues frost advisory for parts of Georgia

ATLANTA — Forecasters have issued a frost advisory for part of north Georgia.

A frost advisory issued by the National Weather Service is expected to expire at 9 a.m. Thursday. The advisory covers the northeast Georgia mountains in Gilmer, Fannin, Union, Towns and Lumpkin counties.

Forecasters say low overnight and early morning temperatures could damage or kill sensitive plants.

Forecasters are expecting temperatures in the mid and upper 30s between 2 and 9 a.m. Thursday in part of north Georgia.
