Mother and 2 young daughters badly hurt as car crashes into bus stop near USC

LOS ANGELES — A car has plowed into a bus stop near the University of Southern California, badly injuring a mother and her two young children.

Authorities say the compact sedan struck a bus stop on the corner of Vermont Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.

The Fire Department says a 32-year-old woman and her 1-year-old daughter were critically injured and the woman's 3-year-old daughter was seriously injured.

The woman driving the car wasn't hurt and wasn't immediately arrested.

Police are investigating.
