Archie scores 19, leads balanced-scoring IUPUI past Omaha 89-84

OMAHA, Nebraska — Mason Archie II scored 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting to lead a balanced scoring effort for IUPUI in an 89-84 victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday.

The Jaguars (7-12, 3-2 Summit) shot 56.9 percent from the field and outrebounded Omaha 37-20. P.J. Boutte added 12 points, Aaron Brennan chipped in 10 and DavRon Williams had eight with eight rebounds for the Jaguars. IUPUI had eight players with at least eight points.

CJ Carter carried Omaha (7-11, 1-5), pouring in a career-high 45 points as the senior guard went 19 of 25 from the floor and nailed 7 of 8 3-pointers. Marcus Tyus added 19 points for the Mavericks, who shot 56.7 percent.

Three baskets from Williams along with Archie's 3-pointer sparked a 21-6 surge that gave IUPUI a 15-point lead late in the first half. Omaha pulled as close as five in the second half, but the Jaguars kept answering back.
