8 more NC driver license offices to have longer hours starting Saturday

RALEIGH, North Carolina — Eight more North Carolina driver license offices will be open longer hours as part of the state Division of Motor Vehicles' effort to reduce wait times for drivers.

Expanded schedules begin Saturday.

Five of the offices will be open 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays and, beginning on Monday, also for an additional hour on Monday to Friday afternoons, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those offices are the ones in south Wilmington, Jacksonville, west Greensboro, Monroe and Asheville.

The other offices are in Manteo, Ahoskie and Wilkesboro. They'll open 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of the month and will be closed noon to 5 p.m. the following Wednesday.

Fourteen driver license offices statewide were already on the new schedule. Not all services are available during the expanded hours.
