BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi — A registered sex offender from Bay St. Louis has been sentenced to prison for 35 years for having 12 pornographic videos of children.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/12hdI70 ) Judge Larry Bourgeois suspended 20 years of the prison term for Stanton Eric Ulmer, leaving 15 years to serve followed by five years of probation.

The 39-year-old Ulmer pleaded guilty to exploitation of a child Tuesday in Hancock County Circuit Court.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Daniel says Ulmer came under investigation after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found file-sharing information indicating child pornography was being downloaded on a computer in Bay St. Louis.

Ulmer was convicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault in New Jersey, on Oct. 22, 1999.
