SPARKS, Okla. — A 3.9-magnitude earthquake has shaken central Oklahoma.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was recorded at 4:14 p.m. Thursday, about 5 miles southeast of Sparks in Lincoln County.
A dispatcher who declined to give her name said the sheriff's office hadn't received any immediate reports of injuries or property damage. She didn't feel the tremor in Chandler, located north of the epicenter, but said she lives near Sparks and her daughter felt it.
A 3.9-magnitude quake was reported near the town last month and the largest quake ever recorded in Oklahoma occurred near there in November. Homes and businesses were damage, a highway was buckled and a tower collapsed at St. Gregory's University in the latter quake.
A message left at the Oklahoma Geological Survey wasn't immediately returned.
