Scott's 4 TDs lead Spartanburg to 49-28 Class 4A Division II state title victory over York

COLUMBIA, South Carolina — Austin Scott threw for three touchdowns and ran for one to lead Spartanburg to its first state championship since 2001 in a 49-28 victory over York on Saturday in the Class 4A Division II title game.

Scott had touchdown passes of 69 yards to Tavien Feaster, 58 yards to Cedarius Rookard and 34 yards to Tavaris Scott and added a scoring run of 1-yard. The junior finished 16-for-22 passing for 320 yards.

Feaster accounted for 221 yards of total offense and three touchdowns — 130 yards rushing and 91 receiving. He had scoring runs of 2 and 5 yards. He also intercepted a pass. Scott added 132 yards receiving on five receptions.

Spartanburg (12-3) has won six state titles overall. Coach Chris Miller won his fifth state championship and his first with the Vikings. He won the previous four while at Byrnes.

Deshaw Andrews led York (12-3) with two rushing touchdowns and one passing.
