INEZ, Kentucky — A man and a woman have entered not guilty pleas in a triple slaying in eastern Kentucky.

WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/1lLwY5u ) reports Jack D. Smith and Amanda Bowen appeared Thursday in Martin County Circuit Court.

Both are charged with murder and robbery in the deaths of two women and a young girl who were found in the ruins of a house fire in Inez. Autopsy results found that 46-year-old Cainie Johnson Jr., 42-year-old Tina Yvonne Goble, and her granddaughter, 8-year-old Trinity Janae Maynard died before the blaze was set. All three were shot and stabbed.

Police said in an arrest warrant that Smith and Bowen took items from the home including medication and jewelry.
