NEWPORT, Rhode Island — The Newport Jazz Festival is closing out its 60th anniversary with more big names.

Bobby McFerrin, Dr. John and The Nite Trippers and David Sanborn and Joey DeFrancesco are among those who will play the main stage Sunday, closing out the three-day festival.

The historic event was the first outdoor jazz festival and has played host to some of the most famous acts and memorable performances in jazz.

Also performing, possibly for the last time, is festival founder and producer George Wein (WEEN'). The 88-year-old pianist will perform with his Newport All-Stars, which this year includes trumpeter Randy Brecker, Israeli clarinetist-saxophonist Anat Cohen and others.

Wein says he doesn't know whether this will be his last appearance, but he finds performing more difficult than he used to.
