Hawaii County police: Boys ages 11, 6 die in early morning house fire; no foul play suspected

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii — Big Island detectives are investigating a house fire that killed two children.

Police say that when Kona patrol officers arrived at the Holualoa house early Thursday, it was fully engulfed in flames.

Two adults and two children were able to exit the one-story house. Two other children died in the fire. Police identified them as 6-year-old Kaeden Matsuyama and 11-year-old Dexen Matsuyama.

The police and fire departments are conducting a joint investigation of the cause of the blaze.

Police do not suspect foul play.
