LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana — A Lake Charles casino employee has been arrested for stealing gaming chips.
Louisiana State Police Sgt. James Anderson says the agency's Gaming Enforcement Division received information from surveillance agents with L'Auberge Casino Resort concerning a Golden Nugget employee exchanging Golden Nugget casino chips for L'Auberge chips.
KPLC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1MNSBd5 ) agents saw 52-year-old Cindy Thompson, a Golden Nugget blackjack dealer, placing chips into her apron multiple times. Security officers then detained Thompson until troopers arrived.
Thompson, of Lake Charles, later admitted taking chips during her shift and showed where she hid them. Anderson says Thompson stole at least $1,000 in chips.
Troopers booked Thompson Saturday with felony theft. Bond was set at $5,000. It was not immediately known if she has an attorney who could comment on the case.
