1 person dies in small plane crash in Panhandle

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. — One person is dead after a small plane crash in the Florida Panhandle.

Police say the victim was the only person on board the fixed-wing, single-engine plane that went down Wednesday morning.

DeFuniak Springs police told the Northwest Florida Daily News (http://bit.ly/2Vxd1a ) that officers are working to notify the victim's next of kin.
