Billings man denies shooting another man in the arm


BILLINGS, Montana — A 26-year-old Billings man has denied charges that he shot a man in the arm after the man tried to stop him from beating his girlfriend.

The Billings Gazette reports ( ) Nicholas Ellis Allison pleaded not guilty Monday to felony assault with a weapon. District Judge Russell Fagg maintained Allison's $150,000 bond.

Yellowstone County prosecutors say Allison attacked his girlfriend in a car outside her mother's residence on April 1.

Court records say when the mother hit Allison with a stick he threw her to the ground.

Another man knocked Allison to the ground and told him to leave, but prosecutors say Allison shot the man in the arm and fled.

Allison also faces and two counts of felony drug possession after police say they found meth and oxycodone in his possession when he was arrested.
