AUGUSTA, Georgia — An 18-year-old student faces charges after he was allegedly caught carrying a firearm into a Georgia high school.
The Augusta Chronicle reports the weapon was discovered Friday morning at Thomson High School in McDuffie County. School Superintendent Mychelle Rhodes said officials identified the weapon using the metal detectors at the school's entrances.
The student was charged and booked into the county jail.
