BUFFALO, N.Y. — A state agency responsible for developing Buffalo's waterfront could get a step closer to taking over a large section of Lake Erie property from another public agency.
Officials for the agency that operates the Buffalo area's public transit system say they support Congressman Brian Higgins ' recent proposal that the property be turned over to the other agency.
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's commissioners will meet Thursday to discuss the proposed transfer of Gallagher Beach and a 1,000-slip Small Boat Harbor to the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. for $1.
