HILO, Hawaii — Hawaii County police are investigating a home invasion in Mountain View.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald (http://bit.ly/1r7vXDH) reports two men Wednesday night forced their way into a Fern Forest subdivision home where a 50-year-old woman and a 64-year-old woman live.

The women told officers they heard loud noises and a man yelling "Police!" outside their home and two men, including one with a bat, forced their way in.

The man with the bat was about 5-foot-9. He wore jeans, a dark blue cap, a black hooded sweat shirt and a blue and white bandanna over his face.

They took money and a phone.

The older woman reported her purse was taken.

The men fled in separate cars, a light sedan and a dark sedan.

Neither woman was injured.
