Agassi, 5 others to be inducted into Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Tennis star Andre Agassi and five other Las Vegas area sports figures are going to be honored Friday during an annual Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Orleans Arena.

Ultimate Fighting Championship head Dana White, Las Vegas Motor Speedway chief Chris Powell and professional golfer Stephanie Louden also will be honored, along with high school basketball coach Bill Bobier and Las Vegas Events chief Pat Christenson.

Hall of Fame Chairman Jeff Motley says the new members will bring to 79 the number of inductees in the hall.

Agassi is a former World No. 1 tennis player.

In Las Vegas, he's also known for his Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, which created the Agassi College Preparatory Academy in West Las Vegas.
