RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas — Arkansas State Police say a man who fled a state trooper was later shot and killed by law officers.

The agency says 27-year-old Bobby Shane Patrick was shot about 2 a.m. Saturday after he raised a handgun at troopers and state Department of Correction officers in Pope County. State police say no troopers or correction officers were injured.

The ASP says a trooper tried to stop a car driven by Patrick at 8:35 p.m. Friday on State Highway 7 in Russellville and Patrick drove away until stopping on State Highway 27 about 10 miles away, then running into a wooded area.

The agency says Patrick was later found by a search team and was shot when he raised the handgun at officers.

The names of the troopers and correction officers were not released.
