LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — The only Democrat in Kentucky's congressional delegation says he'll run for re-election to the state's 3rd District congressional seat in the Louisville area.

U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth said Monday that he will seek a sixth term in an effort to change the priorities of the next Republican-led Congress.

Although he can't file until November, Yarmuth said he didn't want speculation about the race to be a distraction in races for statewide offices.

Yarmuth, who was first elected to Congress in 2006, said his priorities include the federal budget, the Affordable Care Act and immigration reform.
