NEW YORK — The New York State Court of Appeals has agreed to hear a case against New York University's expansion plan.

The Wall Street Journal (http://on.wsj.com/1wcmzQ3 ) says the move paves the way for critics to try again to block the school's initiative to expand throughout Greenwich Village.

Spokesman John Beckman says NYU continues to believe fully in the project and is "optimistic about another positive outcome" when the Court of Appeals ultimately rules.
