PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — The price of a gallon regular gas in Rhode Island is down 2 cents, to an average $3.39.

That's according to a weekly survey put out Monday by AAA Southern New England.

The price of a gallon of gas has fallen 14 cents since the same time a year ago, when it was $3.53 per gallon.

Gas is still running more expensive in Rhode Island than in the nation as a whole. AAA says the national average for regular unleaded is $3.29 per gallon, a dime lower than in Rhode Island.
