FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Fairbanks police say the bullet that struck a woman in a downtown apartment Tuesday was fired from outside through a window.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner ( reports the bullet was fired through a daylight basement window at the Cowles Street apartment and struck the woman in the leg.
