Vermont holds public budget forums Oct. 14 and Oct. 28


MONTPELIER, Vermont — The state of Vermont will be hold two public hearings this month to get input from the public on the state budget.

The first hearing on Oct. 14 will focus on non-human service related parts of state government, such as education, public safety and transportation.

The second hearing on Oct. 28 will be centered on issues related to the Agency of Human Services, such as disabilities, aging, children and families, corrections and health.

State officials say the public forums are designed to discuss the state's budget process, revenues and expenditures.

The forums will be held at various sites around the state through Vermont Interactive Technologies. The Oct. 14 hearing takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Oct. 28 hearing will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
