OSAGE, Iowa — Trial has been delayed for a nurse accused of being intoxicated while working in the emergency room at a Mitchell County hospital in Osage.
The Globe Gazette (http://bit.ly/IKwnH3) says 31-year-old Julie Johnson, of Ankeny, was originally scheduled to stand trial in March. It was delayed until Wednesday. Now it has been reset for May 30.
Johnson was arrested on several charges on Nov. 24 after authorities responded to a complaint at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Hospital officials say Johnson was not employed by the hospital but by an agency that finds temporary employees when the hospital needs a fill-in nurse.
Johnson is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simulated public intoxication, fifth-degree theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
