CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The unemployment rate in Wyoming held steady at 5.3 percent from March to April.
The rate is down from 6 percent a year ago and remains well below the nationwide unemployment rate of 8.1 percent.
Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Tuesday that unemployment declined in most Wyoming counties from March to April. The highest unemployment in Wyoming was 11.2 percent in Teton County.
That was up from 6.6 percent in March, an annual jump that coincides with the end of winter tourist season in Jackson Hole.
Lincoln County had the next-highest rate, 8.5 percent, followed by Fremont County, 6.6 percent, and Johnson County, 6.4 percent.
Sublette County had the lowest unemployment rate, 3.4 percent, followed by Campbell and Albany counties, both 4.1 percent.
