SALT LAKE CITY — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Salt Lake City.
Deryk Robeldo was booked Saturday into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of hit and run and obstruction of justice in the death of 73-year-old Genaro Zaragosa-Valencia.
He was arrested at his parent's house in Salt Lake City, while his car was recovered in Woods Cross.
The victim was crossing a street Monday night when he was hit by a car and thrown about 75 feet. He succumbed to his injuries the next day.
Robeldo was identified Thursday as a "person of interest" in the accident.
