Rockies OF Gonzalez leaves game with mild sprain in his left hand.

DENVER — Colorado Rockies outfielder left Sunday's game against Milwaukee with a mild sprain in his left hand.

The Rockies announced he is day to day.

Gonzalez said he suffered the injury when he flew out to center in the bottom of the third. He played the field in the top of the fourth and leapt into the right-field wall trying to catch Ryan Braun's triple to lead off the inning. Gonzalez finished the inning, but was replaced by in the top of the fifth.

Gonzalez said an X-ray on the hand was negative.

"I took a couple of dry swings and it was sore so they decided to take me out of the game and do treatment," he said. "No bone problems. Hopefully it's nothing bad."

Gonzalez is hitting .237 with 10 home runs and in 59 games this season. He was limited to 70 games in 2014 because of left knee surgery and another surgery to remove a benign tumor in his left index finger.
