2 goals in 19 seconds lead St. Cloud St. past No. 1 North Dakota at NCHC Frozen Faceoff

MINNEAPOLIS — David Morley and Joey Binek scored 19 seconds apart in the first period to lead St. Cloud State to a 3-1 win over top-ranked North Dakota Friday in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff semifinals.

The crucial Huskies goals came in the last 25 seconds of the period. SCSU (19-17-1) plays in Saturday's championship game at Target Center.

Morley scored at 19:35 and Binek at 19:54. Morley has five goals in his last four games. Joe Rehkemp scored an empty-netter with 1:05 left.

Huskies goalie Charlie Lindgren made 19 saves. His only mistake was a Keaton Thompson goal at 15:02 of the first period.

Zane McIntyre made 21 saves for UND (27-8-3), which had a season-low 20 shots on goal.

The Huskies are 6-4-1 against North Dakota in their last 11 games.
