Van driver leads police on high-speed chase in South LA, rams vehicles before arrest

LOS ANGELES — Police have chase and arrested the driver of a suspected stolen van after the vehicle traveled at high speeds and rammed civilian vehicles in South Los Angeles.

A KCAL-TV news helicopter showed the van smash into at least three cars Tuesday afternoon as it whipped through residential streets, causing pedestrians to jump out of the way.

Officers attempted several maneuvers to make the vehicle spin out, but couldn't stop it until the driver abandoned it and tried to run away. Officers pounced on him when he slipped and fell.
