Atalanta draws 2-2 against Chievo and Bologna held 0-0 in final Serie A matches

MILAN — A late equalizer saw Chievo Verona draw 2-2 at Atalanta while Bologna was held to a goalless draw by Genoa on the final day of the Serie A season on Sunday.

The two matches kicked off earlier than the rest of the games because none of the four teams had anything to play for.

In Bergamo, Guglielmo Stendardo headed Atalanta in front from point-blank range in the eighth minute.

Cyril Thereau leveled in the 76th following a splendid pass from Adrian Stoian, before Luigi Giorgi fired in what appeared to be the winner six minutes from time.

However, Thereau leveled in stoppage time.

Bologna dominated but failed to score against Genoa. Panagiotis Kone had a sensational goal ruled offside and hit the bar, while Alessandro Diamanti also had a free-kick tipped onto the bar.
