Norfolk International Airport passenger traffic decreases in January

NORFOLK, Virginia — Norfolk International Airport is reporting a decrease in passenger activity for January

The airport says it experienced a more than 3 percent drop in the number of passengers who used the airport last month compared to the previous year.

Overall, about 200,000 passengers flew through the airport, down from about 208,000 January 2014.

The airport says it also experienced a 10 percent increase in cargo shipped in and out of the airport in January compared with the same month last year.

About 4.7 million pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of Norfolk International Airport by cargo carriers that include Federal Express, Mountain Air Cargo and UPS.
