MORGAN CITY, Louisiana — St. Mary Parish sheriff's deputies say a tugboat captain and two other men were arrested after they were caught stealing diesel by pumping the boat's fuel into an 18-wheeler at a dock in the Cypremort Point area.
Traci Landry, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said in a news release received by The Advocate (http://bit.ly/188vWto ), 48-year-old Rod Pellegrin, a tugboat captain from Cut Off, was booked into jail Tuesday on two counts of felony theft.
The officers also arrested 26-year-old Louis M. Dutreil Jr., of Marrero, and 27-year-old Eric S. Landry, of Lafitte. They were booked on one count each of possession of stolen things.
It was unclear whether the men have attorneys.
