KANSAS CITY, Kansas — Sporting Kansas City declined contract options on several players, including goalkeeper Eric Kronberg, and terminated the contract of midfielder Lawrence Olum on Tuesday.

Sporting KC also declined options on Antonio Dovale, Andy Gruenebaum, Michael Kafari, Victor Munoz and Sal Zizzo. Kafari and Munoz will be eligible for the MLS waiver draft on Dec. 10.

The club also disclosed that the contracts of key players Aurelien Collin, Kevin Ellis, Jacob Peterson and Soony Saad will expire at the end of the year. The club plans to extend offers to each of them and contract negotiations are ongoing.

Sporting KC, which won the MLS Cup last year, went 14-13-7 this past season. The club lost to the New York Red Bulls in the knockout round of the playoffs.
