Apache Junction man arrested in Oct. 26 hit-and-run accident that seriously injured teen girl

APACHE JUNCTION, Arizona — Authorities say an Apache Junction man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a teenage girl.

Apache Junction police say 21-year-old Ricardo Redondo-Reyes was taken into custody Wednesday.

He's being held at the Pinal County Detention Center on suspicion of leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, failure to render aid and tampering with physical evidence.

It's unclear if he has an attorney for his case yet.

Police say a 15-year-old girl was left with seriously injuries on Oct. 26 when she was hit by a car while trying to cross a street at an Apache Junction intersection.

Investigators say tips led to the suspect vehicle and Redondo-Reyes, who is believed to be the driver of the car that struck the teen that night.
